Thanks for all the input. I'm glad I started this as I thought all I did was chose a gas type and hooked it up ! Im now thinking Beer and Sandwiches only on a camping trip I've been offered a couple of gas bottles that I will see on Saturday and if they are small enough to fit inside the Berlin Cupboard (probably just one at a time), I will take them and worry about the type of gas afterwards. I may even go back to Plan A which was to use a single ring protable stove with the cannister refill inside the van for a cup of tea/soup, but to do all the cooking on a stove outside. I was only looking to hook up the berlin stove for the kettle ! What is interesting is how everyone finds a solution that suits them.
A little update. This week I have been sorting out the water, waste and gas. I decided to replace the plug hole itself which then meant I could use a standard caravan waste pipe that just drops straight through the original hole in the bottom of the van, but I used a plastic grille to tidy it up a bit. For the water I have a 10 gallon container with a submersible pump which means everything is nice and clean and takes up less room. The tap was the Super Novo that PeaSoup mentioned earlier. I then cut a piece of textured plastic to size to hide the holes in the sink and to create a smaller hole for the new tap. It fits lovely under the cooker top. For the gas I have a 4.5 Calor Butane in the main cupboard. This has a short length of hose with a quick connector so I can swap between the van and outside cookers quickly and easily. I gave it all a leak test with the soapy water then 'fired it up'. Nice blue flames ! So here we are, running water and burning flames
Excellent work - looking good! Finished the structural rebuilding and relaminating of my kitchen unit this week and so will hopefully be on to fitting my water and gas in the near future
It's a nice feeling knowing that I can now stop and have a brew anytime I want, and not leave the van !
