    Ouch!

Do I win five pounds?

  3. you win my thumbs up award,

now just to figure out which clutch is needed and which arm. i dont think the clutch that is in there is correct. so many variations though.

  4. Current clutch looks like this but there isn't a sleeve over the input shaft and I think there should be with the type of clucth and release bearing that was on there

    Any thoughts?[IMG][IMG]

Yes that looks like a late style clutch on an early style release bearing. Pretty sure the usual suspects say in their product listings which clutch you need for the non guide release bearing.

  6. Car is a 1969.

Engine is at least a 1690 twin port

Do I go by gearbox and age of car?

I'd go by the gearbox. fit a release arm for the non guided type release bearing, and clutch cover to suit.

Looks like you need an old style clutch, probably failed because of it

i have a feeling i may have to call up and actually ask!! how knowledgeable are heritage?

is there any way of going to a later clutch?

I have usually found heritage to be knowledgeable. Just tell them you have a gearbox that doesn't have the guide tube, and they will match the parts for you. Just measure what diameter clutch you need.

  12. Clutch diameter goes on flywheel size right?

Yep. Measure the bit of flywheel that the plate runs on. I would say just measure the plate, but that may be wrong if someone has cobbled it together with whatever parts they had to hand!

  14. You can get an addapter that clips to your pressure plate to convert to an early style.

  17. Clucth that is in there is 200mm do I replace with earlier style and 200 mm or earlier style and 180 mm?

Still cant get the Bloomin cross shaft out at the moment

    Earlier style 200.

  19. That was my thinking but there is also the option of adding a sleeve and using the later style clutch!!
