They are on Guernsey though, fly two people out and two ferry tickets back and it starts adding up. Decent price all the same
I was very interested in these but according to HMRC they will be subject to VAT when the come back to the mainland. Ferry to France, drive round and get off peak to Dover may be cheaper!
According to HMRC if they've been in Guernsey for more than 3 years that counts as a permanent export to outside of the EU. Like I said I was VERY interested in these until I realised I'd have to pay 20% more. It is apparently a peculiarity unique to Guernsey. TBH I spoke to the owner who was quite happy to give a receipt for whatever was required but knowing my luck I'd get caught out. I've since bought one in Italy anyway so the point became moot.
