Oh dear! try him again to see what he says, if it doesn't sound to be going well mention if he isn't willing to be reasonable about it you will have to take it further. Would try your insurers again tho', they will try to get out of it if they can. Good luck.

 

Looks like my 5 year old painted it. I did my old T25 with a roller and Hammerite and it looked far better than what I paid for this and probably cost less than £50.

I had my painter do my beetle 3 times. In the end I realised his eyes were going - he had done lots of work before that was very good.
Yours tho' is on a different level to what I have ever seen coming out of a body shop.

 

This guy had 5 star ratings and loads of happy customers unfortunately. Looking forward to do my review when I finally get the tow truck company details of him.

Ah this might help where are the photos of and are they dated ?

 

Clearly just sprayed the roof with one coat, the dirt that was on it seems to have been sprayed straight over. Probably thought as a women I wouldn't be tall enough to see it.

I have dated photos the day before it left and photos of it being loaded on the Tow truck clearly showing no dent and the exhaust tail pipe sticking out the back.

If you left it in a car park and came back to a smashed van, the insurance would pay out. If you have photo's of the van ok before it came back and it arrived damaged insurance should still cover - check your policy including small print. I assume no legal cover on your van insurance?

 

Have you got receipt for moneys paid ?

 

That can't be called a paint job, same as mine couldn't be called a paint job.
On a positive note you 'only' paid £1600 but the results would probably be the same if you'd paid four times that . I did plenty of prep work and paid 3k cash to a clown who came recommend as a friend of a friend only to get back a quick rub over and a single blast of cellulose - total lack of care , they just took the pi$$ , even missing a sill and managed to warped the roof in the oven , that's when I got the call to collect it - they just gave up ..
Point being I could have paid 10k and still got back a Marmite van . I'm over the stress of it and paid someone who actually gave a s'hit to sort out their crap .
I feel your pain and disappointment with the whole situation , please persue it !!
AND ...
Don't use C&M coachworks in Twickenham if you need it repairing , I don't mind naming and shaming...
