I am looking to take out the two hammocks (Danbury) in the pop up and replacing them with a full width sections of 15 mm ply – (in panels so I can slide them on top of each other) so I can put a blow up mattress up there for my kid. I am wondering if there are any light weight composites that will do the job as 15 mm ply is quite heavy – has anyone got any ideas- or better still has anyone done this. Any help appreciated Thanks Marc
Devon moonraker double top bed panels are kind of hollow; a bit like a cheap internal door but pretty strong. I guess you could make a framework and then encase it in thinner ply. This might be pretty tricky though and not sure just how much weight you'd actually save?
