Hello I’m having to replace one of my wiper spindles on my bay window. Does anybody have any links to videos or diagrams that can help me do this because I don’t know if I can remove the spindle or if I have to remove the whole assembly. Any help would be fantastic thank you.

  2. You’ll need to remove the whole wiper assembly from underneath the dash. Take off the wiper arms (pop off caps if fitted and undo nuts...wiggle the arms until they come loose.) undo nuts on spindles on outside (17mm?).

From underneath dash there will be wiring to disconnect (disconnect your battery before pulling wires and label everything). There’s another mounting under there as well.

Once you have the assembly on the bench it’ll be clear how to replace the spindle. Disassemble/clean/grease everything before refitting (including the new one you are fitting). Take the opportunity to replace the spindle seals if they are knackered.

Taking the glove box out gives just enough access from behind.

Is that for a rhd van, or would the instrument panel need to come out
It's a job I need to do as one wiper arm / spindle needs constantly tightening .

  7. Glovebox out, vent "antler" out, and you're sorted

  8. Not sure if it's different on lates but it's possible to do it with the wiper assembly in situ on earlys

Cheers nice people I did it today and it worked out very well.
I did not actually need to remove the whole wiper assembly as there was play room to remove the old spindles.
    Thanks all good.
