Hi. I have a leak on my carb from the shaft that goes through the body of the carb both ends ,one that holds the accelerator arm on one side and the choke arm on the other... Can you get new seals .....Regards....Tom.
Yes you can get new seals but that leak is also a sign that your fuel metering valve in the float chamber is maybe leaking. The valves are in carburettor service kits. Also check your engine oil for increasing in level when the bus is standing with a full tank of petrol, and for the oil smelling of petrol, indicating it is being diluted with fuel.. Some leaked petrol can find its way onto oil, where it will reduce the lubrication properties of the oil possibly resulting in your first long drive for a while ending on the big yellow taxi, and an engine rebuild or replacement on the cards.
