Do you live in driving distance of Maidstone (Hunton to be exact) ?
Stuck for something to do this weekend ?
Fancy something a little different ?
    Enjoy History ?
Enjoy a good loud bang (for the men) ?
Like to see a man in uniform (for the ladies) ?

This event is the biggest reenactment event for the Napoleonic era in the UK. There will be a battle each day, with Cavalry and Artillery, with the Redcoats led by the Prince Regent (Hurrah) and the French led by Napoleon (make a spitting noise !). Displays and demonstrations and a chance for the children to join with the drill sessions and be a redcoat.

I will be going both days as Master Lofty's Driver and Batman as he is a member of the 44th East Essex, one of the Regiments in attendance.

Have a look at the website for more info. Entrance is cheap (£1 per person for walk in £3 for parking but i'm not sure if this includes entry) with all profits going to Help the Heroes and Air Ambulance.

I'll likely have my 'Camper & Bus' hoodie on so please say Hi if you do go.

  2. Holy costume party! I didnt know Batman was around during the Napoleonic era. Did be have a Bat Horse & Cart?

  3. The Jokers arrived. Kapow and Boom. Sorry not that Batman as I do not like dressing up in rubber !

Naturally I was referring to the Batman found in the Army as an officer's personal servant.

  4. Batman was an Army officers servant? These revelations are astounding. DC Comics never mentioned this in Batman begins.

  5. Bump.
