    Are these drilled and tapped into the ball or drilled and tapped to take a metal insert which then screws onto the gear lever.
     
  15. Just drilled and tapped into the ball.

    I have had one on my bay for 5years with no problems and also on my minis before that for about 6 years.

    No I wasn't suggesting there might be problems, more I was wondering if I could make one out of wood but I think it would need a metal insert first otherwise I don't think it would be strong enough (my wood one, not your snooker ball one). :)
