Ho man!!! Just stop and think about it. You must have some of it some place that you could retrieve it. Did you send some to a friend to read, did you put some on a "stick" to take with you some time. Must be something around you can get it back!!!

 

computer wiz will be able to get it back for ya. Betty thought she lost all her stuff ,got it all for us.

 

yep poppers PM Moira to ask her about it...she used a forensic computer whizzo to retrieve stuff she thought she'd lost.

I'd suggest not attempting to do anything to the computer yourself, as the sectors on the hard drive may get over-written.

Not on the same level, but my digital photos are all:

1) On my Macbook Pro
2) On the network-attached hard drive under Time Machine
3) On a bootable external HD backup
4) On the Mac Mini
5) On the Time Machine backup of same
6) On the bootable backup of same
7) Vast majority are on my Smugmug.com gallery
8 ) On DVDs

I lost them once, never again...

 

awh man...i do feel for you...i once lost the first 10 days of a 15 day road trip in europe in pictures....i just didnt back it up and save it and the memory card went corrupt on me....i nearly wept, i really did...i couldnt think properly. it took time to get over it...and that was only pictures on holiday...i hope you get it sorted.

 

yeh get a wiz , it will still be their im sure. just make sure they are a real wiz/geeky.

 

I've never bothered to back anything up. Everytime I get a hard disc problem it's been boot sector so I buy a new hard disc, load up the operating system to it, configure it to be the boot up drive then have a look at the old one. Every time so far in 20+ years I've got everything back. Don't give up just yet.

 

you can still get info off the drive and the flash drive if you take it to some one who knows about these things, nothing gets deleted it just renamed as blank, etc . it wont be gone

 

yep it'll still be there..... it's just finding it, i've rang the cops and told them you bought the hard drive 2nd hand off gary glitter - they're on the way.
