Autotrader scam

  1. I've just got 2 emails through about my Autotrader adverts 1 for an RX8 and 1 for a jag x-type,

It seems i've changed my name to Jill too, and i live at - The Stables, Leeds.

The account on Autotrader wasn't set up at my actual email address, but the domian name was the same so i get the email through to my account.

it was the second attempt this eve to use that domain name as the 1st attempt required someone to click on the link to confirm the email address (which i didn't do) then i get through these 2 emails about adverts which it says that someone has paid £35 each for on the confirmation email!

So i logged on clicked the forgotten password button and autotraders system then sent me a log on so i changed the password and deleted the ADs (I hope the £70 loss was a kick in the pants to the fraudster though thats probably from some dodgy paypal account!) Of course i cant contact autotrader because its out of office hours i Suppose the best i can do is fire them off an email.

But how did someone run the ads without an email confirmation being clicked?
