The best way is to buy without looking at all I find - then just suck it up. lol Buying one you already know is knackered trumps buying one you think is ok, but isn't.
That’s what he did last time Bought it then asked me to come and take a look about welding a few patches for a mot. hence me ribbing him about it
It wasn’t the last time but it was my first real croc of doo soo. I’ve bought far better before and after, but that one really slipped through the net. I knew how bad it was before you came but it was a great excuse to meet up and we did have a good laugh didn’t we?
Ahhh but if you hadn’t bought that and put it back on the road then it wouldn’t have led to you owning the woodlander. Strange how things pan out sometimes
This was my train of thought when buying my pick up… all the ones I did look at were overpriced Marmitee, so I gave up looking, and just put a low bid in, and dealt with the consequences. It’s lucky I enjoy a major project!
Bought my last 3 from photos. An MOT fail sheet is handy too. Back then though a pile of rust repairs and panel replacement was cheap to do. Now you have to suffer AND £pay!
Yeah, the panel costs are a bit steep nowadays, especially pick up specific panels, but then they are lovingly crafted by schofields, so at least they fit!
Hello everyone I know nothing about autos, but I’ve recently converted an auto bay to a manual and think it wouldn’t work easily as the kick down bar goes through the area where the fanhousing is on a type 1 engine. Not an insurmountable problem, but not worth the hassle I think.
