Hi all hope you can help me,the connection to the auto choke has snapped has anybody done a repair or is it a new unit required
You can probably solder a short length of wire to the pin, then crimp a spade on the end and plug it back in. Insulate the connection.
Give it a good clean and get it nice and hot. Should be OK to solder. I'd probably use something like a Weller 8100 heat gun for the job. If you take it off the van a butane gas powered iron could also work well. A small electronics soldering iron won't be up to the job though. If you get stuck and you're not in a rush for it, you're welcome to post it to me for soldering. Good to see you guys at Eastnor too!
True hackers would drill out the copper rivets, replace the tag and then rivet it back up again. Solder a wire to it , but get a lot of heat to it - a gas cigarette lighter can be used as a preheater before going for a soldering iron.
