I must admit I was surprised at their gash workmanship. On the other hand I was pleasantly surprised at how good the roof was when the top came off so, win some, lose some. You feed us the straight man lines and me and @Razzyh will do the punch lines.
Initially I wasn't worried at all, I was quite happy. However the fact that you've put your laptop upside down to look at an Australian roof has now caused me considerable worry. I'm not sure how widely you've travelled in the past but I think it's incumbent on me to point out that people and things in Australia aren't actually upside down. Because the world is a globe the Australians all appear the right way up to other people in Australia. I'll get @Terrordales to confirm this tomorrow, it'll have to be tomorrow because its always tomorrow in Australia (or is it yesterday?), but anyway it's always dark in the day and light at night.. I've just realised that you probably won't be able to read this as the screen on your laptop is upside down.
so what your saying is those down the bottom arnt upside down after all which is what you both said was the case ??, i think if you had to drank fosters for as long as them youd talk funny too , n kangeroooz hop coz the bludee grounds ot dya no mayte . N as for that terro da les bloke , how would e know e comes from up the top anyway he was sent to the bottom ta get haggis n then drunk tooooo much fosters n hes not a celebrity anyway init!!!
We're the right way up, it's you lot that are upside down. You're also behind the times compared to us in tomorrowland.
I had Similar holes in the grp when I did my same Aussie roof, tricky thing is the pop rivits are quite difficult to get to bite as the thickness of the grp seems vary and in parts seems double skinned, I bought some cheap ratchet straps to hold my roof down and went under the bus and over the roof. Be interesting to see what my roof looks like with the pop top removed....or perhaps not.
Ok, a bit more progress on the Poptop. I think it was either @Baysearcher or @Razzyh that linked me to this site http://www.automobiletrim.com/wing-piping.html For the seals front and back, it turns out they only sell full rolls of 50 mtrs which is a bit too much for our needs. However they did direct me to a company they supply who sell in 3mtr lengths. This means that we need 2 x 3mtr lengths which, including VAT and carriage costs £25.22 It's Great British Sports Cars and they are in Nottingham Tel 01623 860990. For the seal around the Poptop itself I've ordered 10mtrs of ET57 from here, http://www.sealsdirect.co.uk Which including VAT and postage cost me £32.94 Hope that's helpful.
I ordered the lengths I needed from www.automobiletrim.com no problems. Certainly didn't buy whole rolls! Maybe because I got it collected rather than asked them to post?
Yes very strange? As I've always brought it in lengths I require. Oh well your sorted now and prices seem ok.
He did mention though, that after the last two customers bought small lengths of that seal he vowed never to sell retail again as they were so rude and demanding.
