Well done mate, looks lovely , hell of a lot better than that shed I looked at for you. Looks a lot nicer than mine too Keep the spare wheel out of sight! How awful for you having to go to New York Look forward to seeing it out and about sometime
Nice bus. Every bus I've had which has come with a spare on the front has had bad damage, paint rub off and worst of all, 4 great big holes drilled in it. For me its the increased risk of costly damage. Ignore the fact that you might be careful and not damage it, it's the car park knob jockeys who don't give a stuff who are the risk to you. It only takes a very minor tap to leave a great big crease in the front panel, which you're unlikely to notice until you next remove the wheel. Having said that I do like the look of a bus with a nice wheel or wheel cover on the front But, how many times have you had a puncture? I have 3 buses with wheels inside, 2 non walk through with the wheel under the front seat and a westy interior with the wheel in the back. I've never once had to use a spare
Use it, work out what you need and what works best for you. That's the beauty of these money pits they can be everything for everyone. Start saving now for work later, it's not if it needs work, it's when ...
^WHS. The lass next door to me has just passed her test and got a brand new fiesta, she is really bad at reversing. Its all or nothing at top speed. I've seen her a few times go dead fast in reverse up to my spare wheel and i've nearly sh1t myself. That was the final straw to put the spare back inside.
Thank for all your comments. We've had fun out and about in it over the weekend, and I'm even starting to get a feel for where the gears all hide. The missing hubcap has been fitted, and the locks de-gunked (although half of them still don't actually lock). you cant beat a spare wheel up front To be honest, your front panel looks great, I'd leave the wheel off, as others have mentioned issues with damage. Our front panel has been replaced due to a shunt (the floor has a crease in it and the airbox has been moved back a little) which isn't visible now but I know its been damaged!
Cool, colour looks great in the sun. I'd like to do my tintop that colour buts shmbo insists on keeping it white. Is that your house or have you just nicked the use of someone's drive to get some nice location shots?
Wish it was mine mate, we rent it from our Landlord who we lease the Lab from; its across the car park
Thanks. They're taken on my parents driveway, and you can see a combination of their and a neighbours house & garage in the shots
