  16. That is a terrific job, you certainly have put the hours in that, looks great. Well done.

  17. well, finally i have rebuilt the carb i got from vanfest, and the engine now runs perfectly, looks like the other carb i had was a dud. best get me a rebuild kit for that now so i can get it working properly, and sell it or fit it the the upcomin beetle project :)

anyhoo, finally the bus will be going back to my mates workshop tomorrow eveing, so hopefully by saturday night i'll have the engine fitted back into the van, and hopefully maybe even running in the van. perhaps thats a bit eager, as i've gotta test all the electrics too.

IOnce thats done, i gotta tighten up all the steering gear, and we're ready for an mot :) so hopefully it wont be long till he's purring about on his own, and not on a trailer :)

A MASSIVE THANKS TO EVERYONE ON HERE FOR YOUR HELP, AND COMMENTS, I THINK IM FINALLY GETTING SOMEWHERE :)

one thing though, does anyone now how i wire up this alternator??

  20. Thats an alternator with an external regulator. I will take a photo of mine for you. I have two wires off the screw terminal (the big red one and also a small black wire) The remainder dissapear into the loom and to the external regulater

It may not be much help as most of the wiring is covered. I know there was a weblink to some wiring diagrams ?thesamba.com
