Are modern cars more complicated than they need to be?

  1. You only have to see the number of 10 year old Mondeos being broken for parts to know that the cost of fixing them is higher than their resale cost - even for things like a small bump setting off the airbags - or MOT failure due to some sensor or other setting off a fault light that will cost £hundreds to replace - and you know that Martin @Zebedee is right

We looked at the Logon and everything just felt a little bit plasticy.
Cruise control is a god send on a long run and a reversing camera and parking sensors are nice to have but park assist is just lazy and why do you need road sign assist when you have eyes?

Its no wonder more people lease rather than buy. You'd be daft to keep a modern car for more than 3 year.
This ones on motability so includes all the servicing and even tyres. After 3 years just hand it back and get another new one.

That's what we do with Ms.T's cars, take a 3 year lease then at the end of that lease we re-lease the residual for 3 years and the car goes to the Eldest Unmarried. Then at the end of lease pay out the residual and sell the car.

  4. I think i read that in the UK last year 85% of new cars were leased.

  5. You want to try a new Nissan Leaf for tech!

The only tech aids I find useful on a bus are satnav and reversing camera.
