Right bit of an update! Friday afternoon, saturday morning and this afternoon removed the back light and started on the battery tray as it looked like this I cut out all of the bad metal leaving a lip all the way round(forgot to take a pic)and adjusted the new tray to sit on the lip welded etch primed and seam sealed from the bottom Saturday had a little helper, did a good job scuffing all the sills and other bits! I just did a bit of welding underneath. This afternoon made a pice to tidy up and strengthen the seatbelt anchor spot welded welded all the wat round and etch primed bit of progress hopefully getting a full day on friday work permitting get a bit more done
Had the full day on Archie on friday just a few pics, fitted a finishing off plate in the rear arch that closes off the sills found this when I was fitting the battery tray so made a patch to fit and welded it in ended up bodging a few small patches with weld where the metal was thin but ended up not too bad cut off and bunged up the spare wheel carrier thredded holes, slightly warped the panel but not too bad just checking the new jacking points was up to the job Had a chat with the guy who owns the bodyshop and came to the conclusion that he wasn't really interested in painting Archie so organised another paintshop who has a ramp, took all of his interior units to be remade and packed him up ready for his move next week! And I will be able to have full weekends working on him so should see some better progress! Exciting stuff! look out for Archie on the move soon!
yeah but with the help of the new bodyshop guy lol my old mans giving me a hand aswell cos hes done a bit of bodywork in his time so should start moving forward!
It'll be priceless getting some help cos as I'm finding its a slow process and a steep learning curve
yeah hes helped me with bits along the way but hes no professional we've worked together on bits whch can help or not depending on what sort of a day you've had haha I work with him all day everyday so can get a bit much, but the paintshop pro will be a masive help with the prep work!

So today is Archie on the move day got the lad started up, bit of a charge up, put a bit of fuel in and boom (he didn't blow up) he started! heres proof! His chariet arrived so I drove him up the ramp, bit of a squeeky bum moment Put his cover on to keep him warm and dry off he went on a journey round hull for the day wierdly and got dropped off this evening outside his new workshop! outside till tomorrow evening when I crack on with finishing off the welding and start cleaning the bottom for a bit of stone chip! found this at the workshop too! hiding!
Thursday evening got Archie emptied then inside and on the ramp Archies dirty bits cleaned up and kurusted cleaned up nicely kurusted the old man did started a bit of filler work on the rear arches This evening reset how the left outer sill met the jacking point, never was happy with it but now im pleased! bit more filler on the rear arches, starting to take shape now! end sill piece and filler work on the the right hand side bit of putty on the left front sill piece
cut out and plated up a bit of rot on his arch and this pic shows off my dads good efforts on the filler work! few hours on him tomorrow aswell so good progress!
Had a few hours on Archie on saturday, got a few skims of filler on the front needs another but nearly there took the rear light out grinded back a bit of rust and put a bit of filler on sanded it back (crap photo) ground back the rust on the tailgate, found a few holes but should be able to sort it started filling the right rear arch needs a bit more yet so heres Archie as he stands! back tomorrow night for more filling and sanding!
It will all come together at one point and as the primer hits it youll stand back and go wow Keep at it dude
