Hi all, I'm looking to find someone around the Solihull/Birmingham area who can paint my bus, or possibly just part of it. Didn;t want a concourse job as I want to still be able to use the van without worrying about leaving it and getting it scratched and I intent to do all the prep work myself as I am out of work at the mo. Does anyone have any recommendations? thanks peeps
I used spa garage in leamington, wasn't cheap but did a good job, welded all the back end up for me as well, new corners, valance, trays and chassis rails, Martin is a good lad, I reckon you get what you pay for in paint terms, our van had a respray by previous owner which was a good blow over, nothing more and no attention to detail.
i know a bloke in lichfield who is currently painting parts for my caddy, i've known him years and he always does my repairs, @Moons has used him too but i'm not sure if he's cheap to people he doesn't know? he's chargeing me £80 for paint laquer and prep on the wing which someone will now say is dear or cheap....
i wasn't sure so it's nice to know, he said the paint and laquer would be £40 and to paint the wing and tidy up a couple of little dings in it (2nd hand in white) would be the other £40 i also always tell him not to rush so i guess he'll do it in a quiet minute (wing is off as it bolts on) and i'm fitting it myself.
I'll qualify that - good price for a proper job. The car wash lad at work got quotes for the front of his bland mobile, went for the cheap one and it came off when he jet washed it.
I used him on a friends 206 convertible where she'd smacked one if the rear quarters right in and scratched the other. He sorted the dents, sprayed one side, the rear bumper and the other quarter for around £700 (I'll check the invoice and update)....first class job with dents and one of the best colour matches in an 11 year old car in and extremely rare orange colour (there are supposidly less than 10 fire dance orange 206cc on the road). I'd recommend him.
I used to use Auto Refinishers in Tame Road, Witton, for any repairs and paint jobs. Top class paint matching and spraying.
