  1. Much prefer TLB, only go on fb because my local vw club organise meets on there.
Pet hate is people who live out there love life on fb, I.e. love you lots hug and kisses, I love my girlfriend/boyfriend soooo much.
And then they respond with the same!!

I must admit I use FB, Twitter & Google + as a way of keeping in touch with friends who live a long distance away. Otherwise I have to have so many different forums/chat groups open that it is impossible to keep up with the conversations.
This latest "improvement" on FB is just driving me insane though.

By observation (as I am not on there) facebook seems to split into three main user groups:

One - people who go on there sporadically, after the initial burst of interest, and use it mainly to get in touch with people and/or see how rough people look that they haven't seen for 20 years.

Two - people that go on there to show the world what they are up to - not on there all the time - but only post pictures where they are doing something not run of the mill. They use it to promote an image of themselves that they like, and post accordingly.

Three - people with nothing else to do. These can be split broadly into three groups - those that 'Like' anything and everyithing and seem to click it simply to be part of something. Those that put 'teachings' or philisophical statements on there - (personally these are the ones I find most cringeworthy - shoot for the moon and if you fail you will land in the stars - this from people that sit on their arse all day and only interrupt Facebook for Jeremy Kyle). The third group are those, as mentioned above, who either tell you every minutae about their day and or then state the obvious over and over (usually in text speak) I loooves you so much, braap braap, my gf is de love of da life etc etc - and then gets 5 people agreeing or 'liking'.

For the most part - facebook is a herd of people that use it to portray how they like to be seen, and not what they actually are. Once they realise that past its basic usefullness (to contact people), that thats all it is good for - then they get bored. Facebook ticks a huge novelty and nosyness box - but after that fails miserably for those that have got better things to do with their time.

I thinks its like smoking - glad I never tried it as I certainly dont feel compelled to peddle my preferred 'persona', which is what I think most people on there are now doing.

  12. I go on when board or to see if mate are on line to chat if I carnt get them on the phone etc , other than that I don't sit there all day on it

Reading my post back - coming across as a tad up my own back passage.

I can see its use - I can see and respect why many use it - I can see why most of them move on. I can see those left behind are compelled to stay on it - which makes me sad for them.

Anyone use Twitter - even more sensless txt spk m8 - it s pity such a clarion into the world is used to carry such uttery drivel as the message.

I have seen some other people say about this. I dont go on FB that often but when I do its 9/10 on my iphone and it looks no different on there. So its obviously changed loads then. Will have a look.

  17. Do you know what, I think its pants. I watched the film and agree it was set up to perv/check out class mates, or old friends.

Really, if you want to talk to somebody, talk to them. End of.

I use it solely to share photos with family I don't see very often. I never post anything and very occasionally 'like' something someone has posted. It bores the life out of me. Twitter is even worse, drivel shortened to 140 characters. What a poxy idea, but worth billions. Work that one out.
