this is the second time its done this and i thought it was the oil filler cap but thats now replaced with a new one, been out for a drive not far 50miles or so everthings working fine, running peachy no loss of power not that it has any, not over heating or anything like that either.
don't know if its happened before as the head shrouds were black untill i painted them when the engine was out over xmas but now with yellow ones it shows up just a little much for my liking..
    any ideas guys:confused:

  2. Is there a breather pipe next to the oil filler ? Like this [IMG]

  3. my engine is 1600 tp and the filler does not have the pipe under the breather only a pipe from above to air filter box in the standard way for year i think. was all cleaned up over winter and new gaskets on base have been fitted

  4. Zed

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

There should also be a gasket between this part and the ali stand. They often dribble from here as it's not easy to tighten up without the correct tool. Even when tight they do leak here sometimes and they drip just where your pictures show.

    wendygun likes this.
  5. got this leak sorted, hopefully.
the leak was from filler cap, or should i say both as i fitted a new metal one that also leaked. the problem was the seal and the fix was to put both the old seal and the new seal inside the cap making it double thickness so it tightened down more, job done............no leak.
    cheers for pointers.
