Finally insured my van today. Went with lancaster. I got a quote from them just before Christmas, but when I called today it had gone down £20. My procrastination has paid off! Now trying to sort out car insurance. My question is do I really need legal assistance? Have any of you had cause to use it, or discovered that because you didn't take it, you're shafted when making a claim? I know what it's supposed to do, but it just seems like another extra ripoff nowadays? What's your thoughts/experiences?
I didnt have it when someone claimed against me for whip "cash" direct line did all they could to fight it. I lost but even so I couldnt see how paying extra could of helped.
Oh dear! I suppose it's one of those things that the time you don't get it, you end up needing it. But sod it, rather have the £30 in my pocket right now!
I figure all these 'additional' insurances are going to be heavily weighted in respect of the insurer. Never touch any of them.
I dunno, all I know is, the company insisted I insure the van for £10k, when I bought it for £8k earlier in the same week, and I get UK and European Breakdown Cover, and Legal Assistance, all in for £126, and they gave the missus a free jumper, bit of a no brainer really.
