Hello. Apologies for yet another flooring question but I've searched and searched and not found the answer to this one. Those of you who've insulated your cargo floors with closed-cell foam or Silent Coat (or similar) and then put plyboard over the top...how did you fix the ply in place? It it a case of screws through the ply, through the insulation and into the metal of the floor (which seems a potential moisture trap to me) or some kind of adhesive? Please don't say batons wood batons between the insulation - that looks time consuming! Thanks in advance for any guidance!
i didn't fix mine. cut to the right shape, lay it on top and it stays in place i also knew they'd be some heavy cupboards going on top too
Self tappers straight through the substrate into and through the metal for us. Just being careful to avoid the thicker chassis sections and loom etc. Dab of silicon or sealant stops moisture. Other methods are available...
Exactly that or rustoleum with a bit of waxoyl around the squared recess sections and self tapper holes
And if you can see the selftappers underneath a blob of underseal on them. Four selftappers, two in the side and two in the floor was good enough to hold in a 30kg sink fridge and water unit according to the ladies and gentlemen of Sidmouth.
