OK - has anyone considered sticking a couple of PC case fans in the tubes? surely this would do the same job and cost about 98% less than people are asking for these fans? I know its square peg in a round hole so to speak but for a tenner I'd be willing to butcher one around!
Nice idea but those little beastiws don't push the volume of air to match the beefier amby fans. but some use boat bilg.e air fans which arecheaper too i just want a genuine one to keep it as orig as poss.
Yea - appreciate keeping it stock Me, being a tight*** when it comes to these things was thinking of ways to get the same without waiting for some genuine items to come up... I think your prob right on the volume of air - the other thing I considered was using ducted fans from model RC jets - these push more air than me on a Saturday morning after a phall... Would someone like to act as guinea pig for this experiment?
An alternative to the seemingly expensive replacement is possible repair. I'm gonna strip mi e to see what's salvageable. May just need a partial armature rewind...should be doable!

Well i traced the smoke to a filter capacitor on the back. I rewired it to bypass that and took it off so it now works. I don't suppose yours has a capacitor on the back with red plastic ends? More on the removal of that here... http://www.kats.thebughaus.co.uk/kats/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=663
Yep, I have a pair of these, came out of an aussie bus. original and in good working order. do you still want them?
