Alternators...

  1. Hi. Swapping the engine over and noticed that the old alternator has a 3 spade connector plus single pole on where as the new one has a single spade and single pole. Old unit is a Bosch 14v 50amp and the new is Bosch 14v 55amp.

I think the new one has an internal reg as against the external reg on the old one. So the question is what mods are needed to the wiring or is it easier to just put the old alternator on the new engine.

    Thanks muchly

  3. Your new one has an internal regulator, which should work better than the old one. Just have to do the wiring mods.
