Alt pulley question...

Anyone know when they changed from two sticking-out tangs to drive the front pulley half to a flat-sided hole in the front bit?

This doesn't keep me awake at night, but thought someone might know.

Shame they did, the tang ones are fool proof.

 

Good, you've convinced me to use the one I had painted . Hadn't noticed a difference before.

 

The others are always at fault when the shim thing goes wrong, they're able to chatter away the flat and spin independently of the fan. You or I would probably notice, but still!
