Or ratchet and socket the vice grips at the same time . Usually works

  4. Are you using good quality mole grips?

  5. Bummer! Though a word of advice. Make sure you do them up nice n tight cuz mine fell off once!

  6. Heat? can you even use heat round cv joints?

Weld a bolt to the end of the cv bolts and undo them quickly while they're still hot?

I may of course just be talking out my ..........

  7. I cut mine off with sensitive use of an angle grinder.

  8. cheers for the replies guys :)

can i heat up my CV joints?? for some reason that strikes me as a bad idea, i have no idea why though as i have no experience with this whatsoever..

and yeah Para i was using my big snap-on ones, they are pretty good..

and beakey, did you have to drill out and re-thread the holes? because i dont think i have the tools for that currently.

  9. Yep I had to weld nuts on to get mine off

Ps just remember you have to get four out that are reusable :)

  10. okay cool, that will be my plan of action then, cheers guys!!

  11. did u clean the heads 1st ,soak them in Plus gas overnight and try nipping them tighter before attempting to slacken them,?>>>imo ? when putting the system in place do not re use any fasteners etc, go new,and recheck the torque of same at 50and 100kms.

  12. yeah i cleaned them all and soaked them for several times over a few days in WD..

  13. I've welded on nuts before as well. Combination of heat and extra leverage does the trick!

  14. Irealise this (my)post is prob way past any help/advice that will lead to those bolts coming loose ,but ! when I eventually laid out the folding stuff to buy a can of "Plus -Gas" ,the diff,(from wd40) was breathtaking <seriously ! plus -gas=loose oil >>>wd40 =water dispersant>Also, as this /your prob re is bugging me as to why they are not loosening ( I am thinking far to much about it ),I wonder if a po has used that very super strength locktite on them ,the locktite you use when you never expect to have to remove said part ever again (item usually shears 1st)ok ,enough of my "musings"hope you get a result .

  15. You could try Rost Off Ice too, rapidly cools the joint, cracking the rust, and allowing it to penetrate further. I've used it quite a bit and I really rate it now
