Some questions re the possibility of changing the stock airfilter box on my stock 1600:

    What are the benefits?
What happens to the breather pipes?
Any recommendations for what replacement to use?

  2. There is no benefit in changing the airfilter if everything else is stock.

If for example you 'upgraded' the exhaust and valves then you would look to improve the air intake too e.g. install bigger carbs and filters.

The breathers should be routed into the new filter/s.

Recommendation is don't change - especially if yours is working as is.

  3. Don't bother...

    Thought so

  5. Yes you would loose your preheat, fuel tank vent and crank case oil breather. I was thinking the same thing but after reading up and some posts on here I'm putting my air box back in. Bought a K&N element to go in the air box instead.
