Anyone know where I can get a new seal for the base of my aerial please?
Single fixing point on the bulge below the windscreen. Original I assume.
The seal has completely perished and will begin to allow water in behind the dash I guess.
The aerial itself is fine, so would prefer not to have to buy a complete unit as this will no doubt mean taking out the dash.
Not having much luck browsing the usual suspects: VWH, C&C, JK, Schofields, Coolair etc, but it could be I'm not looking in the right place.
Can't believe I'd be the only person in the world who wants one!

  2. You could get some black gasket maker and make one mabe .

  3. I could do with one too - don;t think they are a uniform thickness, so wouldn't be easy to make one yourself.

  4. You could use yours as a mould mabe

Mines going to come off in very small disintegrated pieces as soon as I try to remove it I think.
I could just cover it with black mastic / silicone stuff - but it seems a shame to bodge it if there is a part available.
    I can't believe that no-one sells 'em.

  6. I do get your drift but I’m sure you could make it look nice IF you can’t get one .

Don`t think you`ll get just the mount , I think you`d be better off trying to get a new replacement arial to fit the hole to be honest ??

Shouldn`t be too difficult to fit but you might have to take out the dash pod ...

    Good luck

Yeah, I think you're right. Just can't face fiddling around behind the dash, it's a dark world in there that eats the skin off unsuspecting hands!
Hey ho. These things are sent etc etc

  9. Get a nice man who knows how to use a chalk gun , he will make it look same or ask si

Fair enough, that's the type of information I'm happy to hear... well, the bit about not needing to take the dash out! Shame they don't make a replacement gasket seal on it's own, but hey ho. New aerial it is (at some point!)
    Ta.

  12. I'm about to change my aerial for a NOS Bosch one. You can have my old one for bits if you want, it's only a cheapy one but your welcome to it.

Thank you, that’s very kind. Is it a single anchor point one that would fit straight into the hole? As I said, my actual aerial is fine, it’s just the seal has disintegrated- so if yours has a seal that would be great. Are you coming up to techenders?

  14. Yep single point high angle thing on the belt line.
Not coming to Tech enders, but your not a million miles from me, in fact I went past Fordingbridge today and very probably tomorrow too although that won't be any good as the aerials still fitted. I can always leave it on your doorstep.

Thank you Paul, if not I’m sure I can find an excuse to drive out to you .... not a million miles as you say. Let me know when it’s removed and we can sort something out. Thank you

  16. My aerial sheared off at the base as I left it connected under the cover. I have bought a total replacement. If When I fit it I can get the sheared thread out if the old one you are welcome to it. Likewise If I can dk that I will just sdrew in the new aerial and you are welcome to the new one. It is a Just Kampers one which looks like more plastic than yours but should fit ok.

Ah that’s very kind thank you. If it doesn’t work out with @paneuropaul replacing his, that would be great.

  18. I have today fitted my NOS Bosch aerial, my old one is yours. I suspect the best thing to do is give it to Doug @Baysearcher to add to the ever growing pile of bits he is taking to techenders for various people.
    How does this suit?
