The American store JC Penny has upset a few people due to a billboard ad for a kettle they are selling. Apparently people are confusing it with Hitler. Here's a pic if you haven't seen it. Hitler is the one on the left
Advertisers are very clever people. They use subliminal sexual content or in the case of the JC Penny advert, notoriety and shock. This shows that it works as well. I would never have seen the advert if it had just been a simple picture of a kettle.
