Additional "heater" fan

  1. Assume you are asking if there is any need for the fan speed knob? Just an on/off switch will do. Like you say, you can just turn it off when you're hot enough. But I liked the idea of a little knob to adjust fan speed.

Don’t mention that here, you’ll get the comedians along.

  3. Ha ha!

  4. @jim mcglynn did you put that section of flex tube in as mine is a solid section of tube ?

  5. Its a concertina flexi on later buses. On earlier ones, possibly up to 75 its. Metal. You will need to cut that out. From memory its just spot welded and isnt that hard to remove..

  6. It would be much quieter with the speed controler as full speed isnt needed all the time and the difference between on and off is significant.

  7. Anyone know where you can source the corrugated heater tube as in the underside photo in the first page?

  8. Pretty sure I've seen it in Just Kampers.

  9. I bought a kit some time ago f om someone off here i think. Which included a fan, ducting and y piece to plumb my propex in. Didt get around to checking it out for a while. Duct was for main centre duct to put it under cargo floor. Never used it!

  10. Thought the front section was flexi on all vans, and just the centre tube that changed from steel to flexi on later ones?

  11. Measure your fan and the duct thats there. Its readily available on ebay for propex eberspacher etc.

  12. Nope solid on my 72/3

  13. Solid on mine too. Mine will need a section removing. Also it has a lip that will need to be ground down to allow the pipe to seal.

  14. Shows how long since I've been under an early.

  15. Is that the seam joining the two halves of the pressing. Cant remember cutting mine tbh. Think i took the section from the totem to the next joint completely and used a 45 degree plastic drainpipe fitting to achieve the turn and attached the duct to that. I self tappered it to the totem just above the cab floor. Got the pedal cover in place underneath so cant take pics.

I suppose if you're really clever, you could fit a room thermostat in your bus to control the fan.
