I have a feeling this might be one of those 'dumb ' questions when I'll declare ' of course it does' when some kind soul helps me out again... Just replaced the accelerator cable and don't understand how it connects to the pedal end , I have the what's best described as a dog leg end , the same as what came off but I can't see how to secure it??? Don't know how it was originally as there where it snapped and the dog leg bit was in the belly pan Surely it can't just poke into the hole on the pedal lever and rely on the dog leg bit keeping it in place?
Yes.... or actually I might not even have used a throttle cable as the other end was a soldier less nipple too. Possibly just a length of cable! You can do stuff like that if you aren’t us8ng standard carbs and parts.
The dogleg crimped on the end will not fall off, while any cable clamp can fall off. Its not a good place to go and hunt under the pedals on the hard shoulder. I had cable slip trouble at the carburettor end. Floored the bus on a hill on the motorway and the throttle cable slipped out- it had got chewed from too many engine drops. It was a git to get back in.
