Engine out within the first hour of getting it home
    [IMG]

What little interior it had was stripped
    [IMG]

The odd hole where the table once was

The skylight got, er, reshaped trying to fit it into the garage so this is the temporary cover!

The most common place to find me over the coming year
    [IMG]

First view of the horrors awaiting in the engine bay
    [IMG]

  5. Leaning against the front of the bus one day there was this loud crack which revealed...

Someone had done a pretty shoddy repair in taking the front spare wheel mounting off!

  6. I was told that bashing the area in and filling was the best way

But it looks like you can handle that ;)

  7. Whilst under the bus one day (as you do) I noticed a strange double skin thing going on at the rear corners on both sides...

After a bit of examination and 5 minutes with a grinder discovered that rather than replace the rotting rear corners and just welded new ones on top and must have spent days with the filler covering it up.

Removal of the outer corner uncovered untold horrors underneath.

Turns out it wasn't just the rear corners but the side panels as well
    [IMG]

This is the bit I walked into resulting in a trip to A&E and several stitches
    [IMG]

Notice the actual panel line, and the one carved out of filler
    [IMG]

    More horrors

    Easily distracted

  8. Zed

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

It had a waist on the pic before you took the corner off - about level with the top light fixing holes.

I notice these things at a glance nowadays, but you'd have to be looking for it to pick it up. And you might not care anyway - looked pretty good? It's a far more attractive flowing shape now though even if it is rusty. :)

  9. Looks like you've got some work on your hands at the moment! We are just in kings north if you ever need a hand.

Shame you have uncovered all the nasty hidden surprises, but better you have done that than them causing more damage.

    All the best

Lol it looks like you have some work on your hands, how good some people are at filling and blending work!

  11. I'm only opposite the hoody in willesborough if you need any encouragement. I'm doing some bodywork on mine at the moment.

  12. looks like this will be a good resto to be watching. im glad im not the only one to buy a camper and find loads of bodges cover with filler. sometimes i wonder why they do it when surely its cheaper to cut and replace rather than cover and hide?

  13. Same goes for you jon if u need a hand.

  14. Also not far away, just outside Folkestone. Starting on my own resto, threads in here as well.

Better to know about the problems now whilst you are stripping stuff out, get it all done once and done properly then years of fun :)

Amazing what gets covered up tho isn't it - thats why i prefer to buy a shed, at least i know it can't get any more depressing ::)

    Keep up the good work.

  16. Thanks Gaz. Shocked to see my resto thread so far up the list. A good nudge that I need to get my finger out and get back to work on it after having a small child.
