A wooden 72 westfalia !

    Ok so i am happy with it now as i like this semi cartoon style -

    so that's mine sorted - now what about your's

    Well this is how it is taking shape - began by marking out the outline on a piece of timber

    Then a bit of sawing and cutting -

    and it begins to take some sort of shape

    It looks like a t25 next to the other one at this stage

    slowly slowly catchy monkey -- what dya reckon , a bit rough ?

  9. Another one! Wooo :) I love them... What tools are needed for this kind of thing... Well if we can't make guitars at tekenders maybe you could do a workshop where we could make our own vans out of wood?! Is loooove to do something like this :) x

    You need a picture of your van roughly the same size as the carving , a nice piece of soft timber about 4 x 3 inches , a pencil , a saw to cut the rough shape and then a carving knife , i use a folding Stanley knife like the one in the picture i put up , then some patience and a calm area to work where you can make a mess and not get in t rubble , finally some sandpaper to finish it off - oh and be careful it's easy to slip :eek:

  12. Cut out the bottom 6 inches of rotten wood and drop some replacement panels in. Will be more authentic then ;)
    Looking good - more patience than I have.
