Lifted from the brazzy forum Hey Everyone, The last three kombi's rolled off the production line today bringing to an end 63 years of production. Thanks to my good friend Thiago Marques Artoni of Vw do Brazil we can see photo's of the last three kombi's produced. One version has been signed by all the workers, the second version has photo's of all the workers on it and the third version is the final kombi to be made, The last photo showing an empty factory.
Wasn't there a rumour floating around that they may get a reprieve? I take it that was nonsense? I know they are not to everyone's taste but it's still a shame

I think we should all have a minutes silence today at 18:00 UK time, bow our heads and say thank you vw bus, kombi, transporter, van or whatever you call it. For all the good times when i was growing up camping. For all the good times u took your kids camping. All the memories and memories to come. Dont know about you but my kombi is mine and will always be mine! I wont sell!!!! Lets keep them alive guys!
So reliability won't be an issue so much as actualy getting hold of one, provided it wasn't built on a Monday or Friday.
That would be a good thread on its own Clive but yes it's a sad day, it's like an end of the Volkswagen I grew up with when they were all air cooled (aside from the fact that the last model wasn't of course). Got plenty of memories from my last camper, some good, some I'd rather not remember, mostly good and none I'd trade for others now
