What should I do with my new car? 67 beetle

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by icepug, Dec 11, 2012.

  1. Right guys. I know its not a camper but you lot are alright and give (half) decent opinions so I thought I'd run this past ya. I have recently brought this sorry looking soul. Got it DEAD cheap. £150 spoils to be exact. I only really brought for the spares as I already have a beetle and i want the lights and bumpers etc off this one. Now I am stuck with a dilemma. Do I break it for parts and sell them off or do I sell it as a project OR do I keep it for myself and do it up? Is there anything special about the 67 beetle that I don't know about? Cheers in advance guys. [IMG]

  15. Id buy that beetle for 150 any day :)

  16. It's a first year 1500 Beetle and, personally, I think that the 1500 is possibly the best standard Beetle.

With a '67 you gain the 12v electrics to go with the more attractive sloping headlights and bumpers. For 1968, the Beetle changed to upright headlamps & Europa bumpers (all except for the 1200, natch!).

I definitely wouldn't part that out, unless it is very seriously rotten.!

If it wasn't seriously rotten, it wouldn't have been £150?
Hard to advise from 1 photo, but just guessing, I'd say part it out or sell it to a mug PopTop.

  18. the 67 as already said is 1 year onl parts on a lot of it making doing up such a big project a bit of a nightmare...... depends if you got the money, patience and time to put into it...

id say save it any day..... but i'm not the 1 doing it up hehe xxx
