Pity you're not local, I would take you for a drive at say 2,000rpm and let you advance/retard the timing without telling me and observe the van speed up/slow down yourself.

I seem to have missed something while asleep. And have been quoted with something I must have posted while asleep.

 

Apparently that is only on 1498 casings with the 14r cadmium bearings ,
So with that in mind the difference is so minuscule that even the experienced engine builder can’t really tell the difference apparently and hasn’t caused any of the problems you say
