i've heard off barney today, it's highly unlikely you'll hear from him again, if you need to contact him pm me and i'll tell him you asked after him and see if he wishes me to pass his details on, don't ask me his reasons as our convo was private.
That's a great pity Ricky. I'm sure there are a lot of us on here that would want to send him our best wishes and thank him for the entertainment.
nail on head - but what do the members know........ you can't have your own opinion sometimes - barney is a top fella i've recieved a few messages for him and i'll let him know that there are a few nice people online and not everyone is a warrior of the keys.
Its a shame he has gone. He sent me a couple of pm's when I first joined and made me feel very welcome. It was probably what made me stick around.

i've let him know that this thread is turning into a rubble love in, i've suggested that even if he doesn't log in that he could view as a guest to see that the site isn't all full of argument and insult, i need to be careful now as i f eel like a wet liberal and it's ruining my reputation as a non political person...... take it easy guys have a good day.
To be fair dude, most people here are 'nice people' it's just a very small amount that are 'keyboard warriors'. All the bitching and whining going on is pathetic really. I know everyone likes a moan, but it is the endless bashing of the forum, users and staff that creates a bad vibe and sorry to say but you seem to be a major part of it all the last few times. We are all here because of our interest in campers. You can't please all the people all the time and certainly won't agree with all the rules or others opinions but it's becoming a bit of a bore reading whining post after post. At the end of the day deal with whatever issue is going on, ignore it or don't log on. the people that have an issue have decided not to log on. Fair enough, it's a shame to loose them but life goes on. Don't take this as a personal dig mate just an observation
i am not going to take anything as a dig from now on mate, unless it comes from someone who has met me personally, i agree it may look like over recent months i have come accross as a moaner - there is plenty going on in my life i don't need to discuss on here that affects my mood but the main problem i have right now is to do with consistency of moderation, i fully belive this is being addressed by the guys in charge and i'm sure they realise they have been guilty of conflicting moderation in the past, as i said in another thread i'm laying low so i don't come accross even more as a stirrer/moaner but on subjects i'm passionate about i'll still put in my opinion, on the whole i've put a great deal of time and effort into this site and i want it to succeed.
I think in the main part we all want it to succeed. Yes moderation has been a bit flaky in past with double standards and lack of and hopefully these issue's will no longer be a problem. But on the whole this site is a good one and compared to others there just is no comparison.
