  1. Are you actually doing ANY real work Keith?

  2. I started back today :(, 2 weeks hols and spent everyday working on the bus

  3. Wow, yopu're doing great work. I like the looks of the motor, and it seems it will be lots to power you up the inclines!!

  4. Finished the plumbing in the engine bay, only three leaks so far :( and piped the Eberspacher up

Now onto the interior until i can drum up the enthusiasm to start the wiring, took the floors back to bare metal

    Then rust proofed and primed

And managed to get a couple of top coats on the cab floor

That's a lot of good work so far. I love the heater disguised as a cooler.

  7. The cab area is looking nice and fresh in white:thumbsup:

  8. Put the drivers seat in, fitted the seatbelts and seat surrounds

The electrics was fun, mainly because there were always going to be unused wires in the engine bay which didn't help the process of elimination!
I had a spare fuse box as well as a the LHD mounting point so i decided to run a cable from the battery via a heavy fuse to the spare box, to this i have wired all the extras that i have fitted ie Fogs, eberspacher, heater blower, stereo and anything that needs a constant live, im unsure whether to fit a heavy duty relay thrown from the ignition or leave it constantly live, i dont like the idea of being able to leave something on that will flatten the battery but certain things do need a constant live, anyway its all fitted and everything works as it should.
I was nearing the point of actually starting it but then i removed the dash, after watching a "how its made" i thought a veneered dash would be nice!
anyway £20 worth of walnut veneer and some contact adhesive and i have ended up with this, 2 coats of varnish so far, a few more to go

The list of things that i want to do before the respray is now down to a manageable size

Most importantly start the damn thing and add some antifreeze before i forget, then adjust gear change, check the cards for fitting, paint the inside of the sliding door, paint and refit the roof struts.
The seats can be heated and i hate having something that doesn't work, it really bugs me but how often am i actually going to use them? but i do feel the urge to wire them in :)

  9. Great work with this - especially changing it back to RHD :)
How does the rear valance work as thinking of doing this to mine also??

  10. Its pretty simple, four bolts either side, i will take some close ups tomorrow which will explain it better than i can

  11. Appreciate that and look forward .

  12. Hope these explain things if not ask away

  13. So, the second picture, you bolt into the inside panel and not the outside from what I can workout.
I will be keeping the curvy inside as using the aircooled engine so will need alot more thinking I think...

Many thanks and has given me a few ideas

  14. If I am not mistaken those are Saab 9000 Anniversary seats - used to sell those cars when they were new - lovely cars, and supremely comfy, if I could find a nice one I'd have it as a daily... thirsty though :(

Flipping heck! That's a lot of work and thought put in! :)
Very nice results, I am eagerly awaiting completion, heater and wine labels are brilliant individual touches.

  17. Fitted the dash back in after my attempt at veneering

I still need to sort out the play in the steering column, even the replacement bush is out of stock and adjusting the stop plate is a right pain as there are no captive nuts, so its a two man job, think i will come back to that!
Ive made and fitted a full width R'N'R bed, JK hinges and 18 mm ply

Started on fitting the Zig unit and leisure battery, not many places left for the battery with an Eberspacher in the engine bay
    Hook up socket underneath

Zig and battery under the bed

  18. Also done the front of the bed in the same "wine labels stuck on" as the rest of the furniture
