I have a 73 westfalia bay window continental with the mustard cloth seats in the rear I am looking for seats and door cards probably from the Tmi range does anyone know which ones the should be as originally fitted
Cream basket weave seats _ Low back early type. Door cards were brown I think ( not absolutely sure on the door cards) But think they were.
At work I have the tmi samples and codes for when I did my 73 continental ...if you can wait till Tuesday ....although you can't get spot on door cards
TMI seat covers are great. I thinks I got light tan but lhu1281 will help you with the codes I am sure. The original door cards have some lines that are sort of 'ironed' into the plastic. No one I could find makes any exact replicas although you can get some a similar colour, just not the same style.
Have a look on www.sifatek.de Saw some of their stuff at Hessich last year and it looked very good replicas of yhe original stuff
The originals had lines heat embossed in to them - the TMI lines don't match exactly. If you can't match the colour with ones from TMI you can get a colour matched vinylpaint from these guys http://www.kolorbond.co.uk/vinylkote
http://www.vwheritage.com/vw_parts_TMI-Interiors_act_page.render_pageID_97.htm Its the 04 code BEIGE for the seats , i have the samples in front of me and the Tan (03) is too dark and the off white(05) is slightly light ..although the actual samples look nothing like the onlike colours As for the door panels i spoke to them and gave chassis number but when they arrived i chose to keep and refurb originals like barneys .. This was for a 72/72 westy continential I can`t fault the seat covers i have had mine on for about 6 years and they are fantastic .. Give Heritage a call with chassis number @steeley
Great info guys I also have the same colour 73 westfalia interior. I hadn't realised the door card differences I just knew that the new ones all seem to look far to padded compared to originals. I've toyed with re carding my door trims as I'm pretty sure there a good candidate for it as I'm sure I haven't been lucky enough to of had speaker holes cut into them by the previous owners. I'm looking for some really thin like 0.80 mm thick foam sheet I could replace the disintegrated original with. Cheers Nick
Just to add to the confusion, I repaired my early deluxe door cards by sticking on new plywood and they had a very thin layer of wool padding. I have other's that look like the pic a few posts up that have no padding built in at all.
