SOLD 72 Beige Beauty!

  1. Absolutely gutted to be selling our 1972 camper, who we call Kory.

Mot and tax-exempt and in excellent condition having undergone an extensive rebuild/ restoration in the last 2 years.

We’ve owned Kory for 4 years, and no expense has been spared during that time - to be honest I never thought we’d be in a position to have to sell him, so have always got everything done with the long term view that we’d have this van forever!

This is a very reluctant sale, but a house renovation means someone else can enjoy this amazing van.

He's been dry-stored in insulated storage since his full restoration in 2021, but I also have a brand new unused breathable cover from Just Kampers if you're planning on keeping him outside. I also have a brand new dash tray with cup holders that we haven't got around to fitting yet!

It's a real head-turner in an original VW Toksana Beige (VW code- LT1M), and the paintwork is super shiny, with nice chrome details. The interior is really versatile and unique, and you can have the two bench seats all facing forward, or turn it around to create a booth with the table in the middle.

    Some of the best features:

    Rag top sunroof
Full camper interior with sink, hob, double bed plus toddler bed above engine bay, wardrobe, table, lighting (incl. a little reading light)
    Roof rack
Bespoke matching upholstery and curtains (lovely beige VW camper design)
Leisure battery and consumer unit, 13amp plug etc. for 240v electric hook up on drivers side rear corner
Modern stereo with upgraded speakers in the back and USB charger
    Louvred window in rear
Comfortably seats 6 adults, or more people if you’ve got little kids!

Biggest bits of work carried out in the last 2 years (this isn't actually all of it!):

Full respray, beige body work and white roof
Extensive welding, both cosmetic and structural: new doors, new rear corners, wheel arch repairs, side panels, chassis, new outrigger/ jack points, rear axle, and other repairs including gutters, roof, windscreen and window edges
    New starter motor
New ignition, with push button start
New/ refurbished Solex carb - the best you can get!
New sliding door card, and boot door card to match front doors
The brakes all replaced and upgraded (cylinders, handbrake cable, backing plates, shoes, 13mm pipes) plus new (and amazing!) servo kit
Steering upgraded, with new ball joints, centre pin
Brand new chrome front and rear bumpers
    New door seal rubbers
New front and rear lights, indicators, side lights
    New sliding door mechanism
New tyres all round less than a year ago
New exhaust system - with lovely chrome silencer/ pipes!

Prior to us owning him, he also had a new engine and loads of other work that there is paperwork for.

Added some nice extra/ cosmetic bits in the last couple of years too including side step, rear bars, all adds to the nice contrast of the chrome with savannah beige colour.

Overall an amazing van, that is set up and ready to go for a new owner! Very reliable, we've been all over the UK in it, to festivals, Europe etc. So much has been done to it, with regular servicing to keep up the reliability, as we use it so much - we will be very sad to see him go.

I have added a for sale banner so it is more visible. I know it is in the for sale section but this gives it a little more clarity. Hope you don’t mind.
Some people only look at recently unread threads, and this would appear at the top without them knowing the full details

I like Hearing Aid Beige much more than I thought I would, I think my van was born beige originally.
