6 WIRE WIPER SWITCH

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Jon Baldwin, Mar 28, 2022.

  1. I found a 6 wire wiper switch ,I am presuming that the extra wires control intermittent (with relay etc.) and an electric pump for the headlight wash? This unit has the fitting and tubes for a non electric windscreen washer .There is room for an extra wire and contact in the hard plastic plug ,could it be adapted to to an electric windscreen washer pump? (1976 Bay ) Edit it is a SWF

To me it looks like the contact is already present for an electric washer pump ... Swedish headlamp washer ???

  3. Hard to see from pics, but you might be lucky. How many switch positions are there (four would be nice), and do they all have corresponding contacts on the baseplate? Are there contacts that are operated by pulling the switch lever?

Is there a part number on it?

What I meant ..I think the Swedish buses had to have headlamp washers so there would have been a circuit for an electric pump. The contacts around the washer valve tip seem to be arrranged to close when the windscreen washer operates.
