34 PDSIT Venturi Set Screw Shennanigans.

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Pony, Apr 13, 2014.

  1. Found one had dropped out of the body, luckily recovered it. Now here's the rub, I can't find any info on setting the venturi. Have done a bit of research in the past, as I'm going to strip them and, I presume they will need resetting when re assembled. But nothing, nadda, zilch. Any info greatly appreciated gang.

  2. Does it need to be adjusted? The venturi is just screwed into the carb body, or am I missing something?

  3.
  4. We're talking about the circular thing that goes into the carb throat, yes?

Dells have swappable ones, but they're just held in with a screw. Can't think what there is to adjust!

  5. That's the one snotty. You know what these beasts are like at times. Summat that seems simple, actually requires a human sacrifice on St Swithens day to do the job right. And they don't mention it in either Haynes or Bentleys.
Ta for putting my mind at rest.

  6. I cant envisage what adjustment you would do it just fits into the carb body I think!

  7. Just the man Dicky. The Asbestos? thread that's on here at the mo. Was trying to"Mention" you on it with the thread that you did last year about the heat exchanger asbestos issues. I have a clue how to get a link up or do a mention, only been here a year. Thought it may be some help to the chap. Any chance you can do the dirty work.
