24 hour Covid?

I just had the strangest 24 hours.
Yesterday at about 12 noon I suddenly found my lungs full of phlegm and feeling like someone had sandpapered them. Cough it up and painfulness gone. Carried on like that + breathless until this morning. Pain, cough breathless. No other symptoms.

Now I'm fine just slightly breathless but getting better by the minute. I can even smoke again, I did stop for that time.

Weird. No I haven't had vaccine yet, I've been otherwise poorly and can't physically get there. I hate being older and decrepit.

 

If your in doubt best to isolate and get a test sent out to you

 

You won't know, unless you get tested.

 

I'd strongly suggest test and also call your doctor. I understand symptoms can lessen and then come back. I also agree getting old is a bugger.

 

Totally fine here now. It was more like something came in the window and instantly irritated my lungs TBH. I didn't smell anything but this is a marina and gawd knows what people chuck on their stoves for convenient disposal. Maybe. It didn't creep up at all, literally 1 minute fine, the next not. Really totally recovered from it now, the last 20% since I posted.

On the other hand I'm always claiming not to be effected by colds and flu and other viruses, maybe I'm just good at fighting them because if that WAS Covid I certainly kicked it's ass in no time flat. I'll get a test.

 

Doesn't sound Covid related Steve, I've never heard of people having symptoms for one day and when I had it my cough was the opposite - i.e. very dry.

There is some evidence that smoking provides some resistance to Covid. Ask your GP to prescribe some fags. 40 Capstan Full Strength a day should do the trick

That is odd. Maybe you’ve become sensitised to something.

 

The complete and quick recovery is the baffling thing because it was quite nasty for a few hours.

 

Short Covid......?.......

 

I had similar to that when got poisoned by cutting up galvanised water tank in a old garage , it had to be cut in half to get it out ...i was 18 at the time ...boy was i rough i thought i was dying....had a temperature headache coughing up alsorts .
Went to the doctors surgery 8 in the morn and suddenly felt totally fine when waiting in the surgery and got up and went home ...we were cutting it up at 10 at night .
