Sorry I've just got back in and I'm clean now, and tea's cooking, I'll give it a wipe over in the morning and do some more detailed photos for you
Yes And then I was away for a couple of days. dug it out, it needs a good go over with a cup brush. The seal surface has a score a few mm in which you can just about feel with a finger nail.
Not too bad, cleaned it up with a cup brush, the rest would shift with emery cloth(or some clutch slippage)
Thanks for taking the trouble of digging it out and posting the pics, I'm going with BNO's as the oil seal damage doesn't look so deep as yours.
No trouble at all , you can just feel the rough spot so would defo need a bit of work, hope you get it sorted
Could someone tell me. Is the outer diameter different on these flywheels, or is it only the inner clutch face that's different?
Yes, but you only need the bigger bell housing with the 228mm. I think. Whether that's because of the clutch or the flywheel I can't remember.
Cheers zed. I have no reason for these questions. It's just curiosity. And wondering if a smaller flywheel could be made to fit a larger clutch. What you reckon?
Those reconditioner chappies, the Dutch ones, make 200mm flywheels from 180mm ones, but they end up with a groove (the bottom of the old outer dust channel after refacing a hunk off) near tyh edge and no dust channel to speak off. I think the clearing holes for the dust also end up not on the edge which is pretty useless. The only thing you could say about them is you can fit your 200mm clutch to them.
My vdo clock is doing very well on eBay so I'm feeling benevolent, besides, it was given to me Any idea on cheapest postage?
