Freddie Mercury died, i felt cheated, See, Eric Carr the best drummer Kiss ever had died the same day of the big C and the poor guy never gets a mention.....now i like Freddie but i like Eric too, but which is best? there's only one way to find out......

    trust me, it's Eric.

    R.I.P to both.

  2. Yes, what a fantastic drummer Eric was. One of the very best. But Freddie was one of the all time greats. He had the most incredible voice and, on stage, was such a great entertainer. The guy really knew how to get an audience going and gave a performance never to be forgotten. You'd never believe that in 'real-life' he was an incredibly shy person.

Lead singers are always going to attract more attention than other band members.

Once you saw Freddie on stage it was something to remember. MsT & I were at Wembley in 1986 & it's a concert I'm pleased not to have missed.
Don't know enough about KISS to comment on the drummer, maybe I should listen to some of their stuff.

How strange. Only yesterday Judy and I were singing a Queen song in the office and I was saying it must be 20 years.

Freddie really was a great entertainer. His legacy being ruined by confussed.com by using of Queens songs :(

  5. The greatest entertainer to have lived .... genius

Its only been in the last 3 years that I actually started liking Queen. I hated them for some reason before and now actually feel quite the opposite.

For me I guess its like Brussel Sprouts something you like better with age though I still hate Sprouts.

  7. To be fair, I wouldn't say that is great drumming.

  14. Same happenned when Di kicked the bucket, Mother Theresa popped it at the same time, a sad day when anyone kicks it ( cept for Nigel Slater  ), I have Kiss solo albums and still play them, Queen were good, Kiss were good, it only gets to you if something critical in your life happens when you are listening to the appropriate music. imho

  17. Remember taking a bus load of mates to Main Road to see Queen back in the 80s (86 perhaps) in my old Dormobile. They had a spare ticket and as I couldnt stand their music I declined the offer. Should have gone really but gthey werent my thing. Remember when Freddy passed away a mate of mine who was working for me at the time got a call from his girlie who was working at Reuters to tell him he had died. He didnt officially die till about a week later. The sickos, on realising no-one else knew tried to lay a bet that he would die which was refused by the bookies (bloody painters).

Dont mind em so much now but...... never trust a hippy eh!

  18. Queen are a bigger deal this side of the pond and although they are massive in the States Freddie's death was always going to have the bigger impact over here than Eric's.

Just really sad that 2 greats passed away on the same day :(

At least their music lives on :)

I like drummers who play to, and accentuate the music.
Dave Grohl is one of these proper drummers.
And the guy who plays for Jools Holland, Gilson Lavis
    and Clash's drummer, Topper Headon
C'mon then - even Ringo Star
These guys added to the music, rather than trying to drown it out showing off.
