2.0 injection idle speed

  1. What is the correct idle rpm for a 2.0i type 4 engine?

  2. should be on a yellow sticker on the inside of the engine lid or on the drivers door shut possibly. if not i think it is meant to be 850 + or - 50... i will nip out now and check mine though

  3. double checked and it is 875 + or - 75 if its a manual and 925 + or - 75 if it is an automatic

  5. Cheers mine was running at 1850

  6. idle speed should always be below 1000rpm
its hard to describe but it just sounds "right"
last time i did mine i just adjusted it till it sounded right and when i connected the t/light with the rpm it was 875

Our westy idles quite high on choke, I'd say 1200rpm ish but under normal conditions, I reckon around 1000rpm..it is on the high side but the FI is running well so I'm rather inclined not to break it!

  8. Mines far too high, okay on choke but has to be up at 12 - 1300 at idle.
How do I adjust an Fi, any pics of the adjusting screw????
    CheersB

It's dead easy. But hard to describe where it is - there's a picture in Haynes and it's a big screw acessable looking down through the hatch towards the back RHS.

  10. big screw on the throttle body. make sure the timing is right as well though
