  1. Today is a sad day as after owning "Edith" for 19 years she has to go up for sale.

I will upload some photos in due course, please see details listed below

Edith failed her MOT for the first time in 19 years a couple of weeks ago, she needs a lot of bodywork, though is by no means a lost cause. I know I can get a lot more money breaking her but that would be a very sad thing to do, so I hope someone may be willing to take on the challenge.

This van has never had any serious welding underneath and still has the panels on the bottom, she also has the same key that fits ignition both door locks, sliding door and tailgate - they have lasted for 33 years!

I always envisaged owning her forever, but things change, I have not had the time to look after her or use her properly for the last 5 years, she has been under a Just Kampers cover for the majority of the time but I now realise this was a big mistake as her body has rotted quite badly.

I had got things ready to repair her however due to a number of work and family commitments, I do not have the time, someone who is a bit younger needs to take up the challenge.

    Bad points.

    She will need (at least):

    O/s sill inner + outer
O/s front wheel arch and step
2 new doors - both beyond repair
Rear N/s and o/s wheel arch repairs
    Front seatbelt mounts repairing
Sliding door needs minor repairs on the bottom but the top is rotten (I have a new rust free top see below)
Front panel is OK on the outside at the bottom but has gone at the top - it will probably need a complete new front
Front dash is rusty where it meets the screen and will need repair if not replacement
Repairs needed around most of the windows
Some of the interior woodwork is showing it's age

    Good points.

    Starts 1st time every time
    Brand new battery
    New-ish leisure battery
Roof canvas replaced (remanufactured to the highest standard by Mrs Plant of Kingswinford) and is fully waterproof
Original Viking interior which is 70's - tastic
2 litre type 4 engine - needed as this is a heavy conversion
    Reconditioned 2 litre gearbox
Original VDO dash clock - these sell for over £200 on ebay

Saab 9-5 beige leather heated seats (heating not wired up)
Electrolux 3 way fridge replaced approx 6 years ago (electronic ignition)
    Professionally fitter Witter tow bar
Roof and gutters repaired 2 years ago - cost over £2000
Rear runners and 1/4 panels repaired last year cost £1000
    Good tailgate and engine lid
New old stock original cooker - which can be removed to cook outside
    240v, Zig unit etc

If you are not sure what the Vikings were - they were the Rolls Royce of the conversions - it even has a cooker hood which extracts!!

4 full size solid bunks in the top - these vans are huge with the roof up, another 2 beds can be made in the bottom of the van
I have spares which I am tempted to sell separately as I will get more for them - if someone offers a reasonable amount I will include them - 2 rust free Californian doors stripped and ready - one needs slight repair (these are original heavy doors not the cheap Brazilian remakes with the swage line), also I have two opening quarter lights to fit in the new doors (doors sell for up to £200 each on eBay, I have seen quarter lights for £100 each buy it now on eBay)

I also have a new sliding door top from a minibus which will take a ¼ light window which I also have, the door won’t take the window as it was originally a van door
Sensible offers please - I will consider breaking but would rather sell as a complete bus to someone who will love her as much as we have done :(
