18 months after getting our bus, we got Charlie back from the restorers this week, bit of a contrast to how it was when we first saw it but very happy with the result. I will post some pics of the restoration process. Charlie (as in Charlie don't surf) is a 1976 Westfalia and spent most of its life in Holland until coming over the the UK 3 years ago and sat on a drive rusting away till we got it. It had just failed its MOT and needed a front beam amongst many other things. The new colour is and original VW Reed green with Seagull Grey inside, but never used on late bays as far as I know as an option. We will be doing the interior in the near future as soon as the funds build up again though not with an original westy interior, going to go more of a personalised to fit our family needs. The front seats came via Baydreams of this parish. The original seats are on ebay currently if your interested, ending 26/6/12 7.30pm. As it was looking not too bad from the picture... but a close up look revealed a bit of work needing to be done.. Looking a bit different now
Thanks paradox, its looks even better in the flesh, though the seagull grey looks more green than grey TBH.
