Looking forward to more updates! Top tips learnt the hard way from another newbie... 1. Don't cut too much out at once 2. Don't cut out anything you don't need to, retain as much original metal as possible.. 3. Don't throw anything away just yet, no matter how small, unless your absolutely certain you don't need it. 4. Wear safety goggles 5. Get quality repair panels, or better yet original body cuts. Much easier
Cheers Carl.. I may have jumped the gun on a repair panels (front end ), but hoping to contact a guy tomorrow for original parts for the rest!
If you haven't done this before, or even if you have, get some ear defenders. Please don't get the yellow ones digger drivers and builders wear, they do very little. Get good ones. I have a pair of these and I'm in a world of my own, I can barely hear the grinder. You can get better but these are fine for our noise levels. Very comfortable too. You should wear them for hammering too - that's what did for shipyard workers hearing. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3M-PELTOR...=UK_BOI_ProtectiveGear_RL&hash=item1c32ed93f1
Wow! I should leave a photo of yourself near the garage door so your family will be able to remember what you look like. Then on the few occasions you stagger in from the garage filthy and exhausted they'll know who you are and won't be scared. Good luck.
